Extreme Weight Loss Methods

There are a few different kinds of extreme weight loss tips for fasting. You may have heard of juice fasting, where meals are replaced with a blend of fruit and vegetable juices. This diet tends to work because it involves eating a very small amount of calories each day, usually less than five hundred which is only a quarter of the daily allowance for women and a sixth of the suggested calorie intake for men, it is however considered as extreme weight loss methods for women.

The second type of fasting is a water fast. As the name suggests this involves drinking only water (variations include water with lemon juice or hot salted water) for a period of time. Both of these methods are not only extremely dangerous, possibly leading to heart problems and fainting, but can make it more difficult to lose weight in the future, and therefore is not one of the better weight loss techniques.

When your body thinks food is not available it slows down bodily functions, including the metabolism. This is why many people put on weight after a fast, and sometimes even more than they lose during the fast. The body holds onto the calories you eat after the fast and stores these as fat, preparing for future starvation.

  • Weight loss surgery

These days regarding slimming methods and other extreme weight loss methods, weight loss surgery is gaining in popularity with procedures including stomach stapling, gastric bypasses and liposuction. These methods can seem like a quick fix for weight loss, but they are anything but. These operations take a long time to recover from, leave permanent scarring and come with the risks associated with general anesthetic.

  • Diet pills

As with the other extreme weight loss methods, some types of diet pills do have a significant risk. Looking at banned diet pills such as ephedrine, the risks of heart problems and strokes are very real.
